Attention Deficit Disorder (ADD) is a condition that is usually characterized by behavioral and learning disorders. ADD generally diagnosed in children, mostly affects the boys than the girls. ADD not only occurs in childhood but also continues till adulthood in some cases.
Some of the characteristics that are commonly cited among the children with ADD are hyperactivity, distractibility and impulsivity. ADD results in children finding it difficult to perform a task assigned to them and focus on some of the important aspects of conversations. In addition, the children are not able to complete their tasks as they rapidly move from one activity to another frequently or due to the distractions caused by external stimuli.
ADD is a neurobiologically-based developmental disability that usually affects children. The actual cause of ADD is unknown till date. Research has shown that ADD is caused due to the genetic transmission of the condition from the parents to the children and also can be due to the result of a chemical imbalance or deficiency of certain neurotransmitters.
The neurotransmitters are chemicals that help the brain regulate the behavior of an individual. A recent study has shown that the rate at which the brain uses glucose, its main energy source, is lower in individuals suffering from ADD than in individuals without ADD.
The important features associated with ADD are inattention, hyperactivity, and impulsivity. Some of the symptoms due to inattention include making careless mistakes in schoolwork, work, or other activities, facing difficulty sustaining attention in tasks or play activities, not listening when spoken to directly, facing difficulty in organizing tasks and activities, and mostly forgetful in daily activities.
Some of the symptoms due to hyperactivity include fidgets with hands or feet or squirms in seat, running about or climbing excessively in situations in which it is inappropriate, facing difficulty playing or engaging in leisure activities quietly, and talking excessively. Some of the symptoms due to impulsivity include blurting out answers before questions have been completed, facing difficulty in awaiting their turn, and interrupting in a conversation.

Got a Headache Painkillers Are NOT the Solution
Say you had a stressful day at work, didn't get enough sleep the night before and as a result you've got a bad headache. What do you do? It's easy! You take good old Tylenol or other over-the-counter medicine. And it helps! No more headache, the world is bright again.
The next day you wake up with the headache again. This time your headache is tolerable but dull and constant. It's a good thing you bought that medicine yesterday. Better take it before headache gets more painful. If you take two pills instead of one it might even work faster. Sounds like a logical thing to do, right?
Wrong. All you did is blocked pain receptors that are involved in transmitting signals between brain cells. That means the headache is still there, your brain just stopped getting signals about it. Instead of treating the cause you are treating the symptoms.
In addition wildly known over-the-counter medicine like Tylenol and Advil can be really harmful if misused. I was shocked to find out that only 16% of people read the label completely. Forty four percent of people (and that's hundreds of millions) read the label and knowingly exceed the recommended dose. Are you one of those people?
If you experience headache more than two times a day, you've got a problem. Popping painkillers like M&M's may only lead to rebound headaches. When you take the same medicine for the long period of time your body becomes addicted to it. What happens when medicine wears off? You get an even stronger headache, which forces you to take more medicine...and more medicine...and more medicine...It's a vicious circle.
I’m not trying to tell you never to use painkillers again. They can be really helpful sometimes, but they should not become a part of your daily ration.
One more thing. ALWAYS read a label and pay close attention. Some over-the counter medicine even if prescribed for different things can contain the same active ingredients simultaneously. In that case you will exceed maximum daily dose and do your body more harm than good.
For example, Tylenol used for reducing headaches contains acetaminophen. So does Maximum Strength TheraFlu, used for fighting cold. If you combine those two medicines, you will most likely overdose acetaminophen. Combined with bad diet, irregular eating and drinking alcohol it will gradually destroy your liver. The worst thing is that signs of liver failure on the early stage are very similar to the common flu. Not knowing that most people increase doses of flu medicine, killing their liver completely. And it all starts with something as little as a tension headache and weakened immune system.
So if you are suffering already from rebound headaches the only thing you can do is to stop taking any painkillers at all. Replace them with natural remedies.
Do you know that natural solutions often work faster and are more effective than painkillers?
There are so many ways to choose from! Hydrotherapy, aromatherapy, acupressure, massage, yoga and so on. Most of these methods people have been using for centuries. If they worked for millions of people before, they are guaranteed to work for you. Treat your headache before it even starts and you will save tons of money on the painkillers.

Mud Baths at Your Home Spa- the Pros and Cons
"If you truly love Nature,
you will find beauty everywhere"
-Vincent Van Gogh
Mud baths are natural products you can use at your home spa.
You are a spa goer and enjoy mud baths at health spas, beauty spas, day spas etc. Or you are a home spa bather and know something about beneficial properties of mud baths. One day you decided (or will decide) to try mud baths at your home spa.
While surfing the Internet you can find a lot of mud baths offered by many companies (Moor mud, Dead Sea mud, sea mud etc). But how to choose which one is more suitable and more beneficial for you?
Peloids (mud) history.
Peloids (mud ) treatments and their remarkable revitalizing effects have been known for many centuries and have been successfully used in spas, resorts, clinics all over the world as a natural, effective therapeutic tool. Scientific researches have proved the therapeutic properties of peloids for many balneological (water therapy) treatments in dermatology and rheumatology and for beauty purposes in cosmetology. Natural biological ingredients of peloids benefit the body and the skin by detoxifying, hormonal-like , anti-inflammatory, anti-bactericidal and bioenergy potency, balancing and harmonizing properties.
There are three main types of peloids in the world.
Saltwater peloids (mud) have high mineral content. Being rich in minerals saltwater peloids are beneficial for the body and skin due to re-mineralizing and nourishing properties.
And there are two types of organic muds with high organic content: Sapropel and Moor muds. Imagine a substance (enriched with minerals, phyto-hormones, amino acids, enzymes, biostimulators, vitamins) created by Nature for thousands of years with the power to balance, nourish, revitalize! Both of muds - Sapropel and Moor have been successfully used in clinical and beauty industry for hundreds of years.
But there are also some PROS of mud baths... PROBLEMS: Is original mud bathing a smart choice for your home spa? Yes and No... Yes, because mud baths have a lot of beneficial components for your body and skin.
No, because a solid phase of muds sticks many beneficial components hardly allowing them to penetrate the skin during bathing.
That is why for proper treatment procedures European spa professionals can use up to 16 kg ( 35 pounds) of original peloids per treatment bath.
Real original peloids consist of many water INSOLUBLE substances which can also PLUG a bathing system so only special facilities are used for peloids procedures.
So first of all, mud should be prepared for proper bathing.
Prepared mud (extracted, filtered, processed, refined) is a better choice for bathing. Scientists have been researching various types of mud extraction to provide main biological substances, increase a bathing efficiency and avoid these problems.
Today you can buy several types of peloid (mud) extracts and add a cup for home bathing. These baths are less or more water-soluble and contain less or more organic and mineral substances ,depending on types of extraction and types of mud. The more substances extracted from mud are, the more complicated and expensive the extraction process is and the more beneficial this extract and this mud bathing is for you.

Homemade Bath Products.the Pros and Cons
When you surf the Internet to find proper bath products for your home spa bathing you can see many websites offering homemade bath product receipts:” Why to pay more for expensive bath products if you can make your own products…Forget (give up) these expensive bath products at bath (drug, department etc) stores…You can make your own inexpensive bath product at home etc…etc…etc…”
Is it right? Yes and No…
Let us describe three main levels of natural bath products depending on several factors. Each level differs from others by complexity of composition, structure, technology, therapeutic value and results, biological activity of ingredients etc.
- BEGINNING level of natural bath products: ANY REGULAR mineral bath salts scented (with aroma oils) or unscented, colored or uncolored etc. For example: Dead Sea salts, Epsom salt, ocean salt, sea salt, lake salt etc. Can you make these bath salts at home? Yes, you can… It is simple… Pour the mixture of bath salts, essential oils and food coloring into a bathtub and add warm water. That’s it! So the “make at home” advice for this class of bath products is the correct and good advice. You can really make inexpensive bath products of this class at your home.
Homemade possibility: Yes, it is simple to make this class of products at your home spa.
Pros: Simple and inexpensive bath products.
Cons: This simple structure restricts therapeutic range and benefits. Results directly depend on the amount of products added to water. The more you add...the better.
- MIDDLE level of natural bath products: MUD baths (organic or mineral), HERBAL baths with plain, herbal-infused oils and aroma oils, milk baths etc.
This class of bath products is more complex in composition and therapeutic value. This class requires more time, more efforts, more knowledge to be made at home. You obviously can not make yourself mud baths from regular mud, instead you purchase a prepared mud extract- Moor mud, Dead Sea mud etc. But you can make other bath products (herbal baths, milk baths) at your home. You should add dried herbs to boiling water, simmer, strain liquid, mix with salts or powdered milk, add essential oils.
Homemade possibility: Yes, it is possible (but not simple) for some of products.
Pros: Active ingredients provide more therapeutic and wellness benefits for home spa bathing.
Cons: This class requires more time, efforts and knowledge to be made. Unfortunately, many therapeutic ingredients of this class when prepared and produced at home are incapable and/or low capable to penetrate the skin . Thus the therapeutic value is decreased.
- ADVANCED level of natural bath products: innovative therapeutic bath products of new concepts, ideas, composition and therapeutic abilities with SMART properties and behavior. These products offer a FULL spectrum of bath experience and value with advantages of main bath products together. This class of natural bath products can not be made at home. This class requires special technology, scientific steps, new ideas, innovations, exclusive solutions, clinical studies to prove advanced value, complex ingredients etc. This class is for advanced bathers who try to experience more interesting ideas and products than mass market regular products.
Homemade possibility: No, you can not make this class at home.
Pros: More complex composition provides smart influence with more therapeutic value, ranges, beneficial results. The main therapeutic key now is biological activity and smart value. The smarter...the better.
Cons: It is not easy to find this class. Such products are often offered only to professional balneological (water therapy, hydrotherapy) spa markets.
Need samples of this class? Please, do not disclose this idea to manufacturers!
Idea: Try to combine at home main bath products in one bath:
- bath salts
- mud bath
- herbal bath
- thalasso bath
- aroma bath
It is not a simple and easy task…I’d predict it will be a nightmare to combine them in one bath…Intrigued?

How To Have Optimal Health and Energy Seven Key Steps
Hello!
Alan Allard here…
You have my respect for taking action to learn how to improve your overall health. You can discover and learn how to do just that…change and improve your health… and enjoy the new levels of energy and vitality that will simply come your way.
You might want to know why I believe you are capable of changing and improving your health, regardless of the past. I am a former psychotherapist, now in private practice coaching others for rapid personal change, accelerated performance enhancement, and creating and nurturing outstanding levels of well-being. I am also the founder of GeniusDynamics, a Training and Coaching firm that specializes in accelerating the process of reaching levels of “unconscious competency,” what many call “being in the zone.” And, as I have worked one on one with clients for over twenty- two years now, I have identified seven keys that can and will improve your health and energy.
The seven keys that I share with you are not meant to be understood in a literal, “This is the most important key, and this is the second most important key,” manner, or practiced in a linear fashion. Rather, these are dynamic principles, beliefs, values, behaviors, etc that work together simultaneously and synergistically.
With that said, here are the seven keys!
Health And Energy Key # 1:
Begin With A Well-Formed Outcome
Simply put, your brain and your mind (conscious and unconscious) are “outcome focused,” by nature. You will always be using your brain and your mind to be moving toward an end target, a goal, a desired outcome…so choose each one wisely.
Now, when you think of something, anything, such as your health, keep your mind on what you desire, and off of what you do not desire. And the key to keeping your mind off of what you do not desire is to…keep it on what you do desire! Period. See, hear and feel that which reflects what you desire. If you get off track, away from what you desire, to what you do not desire, simply bring your mind (your pictures, sounds and feelings—more on this later) back to what you desire.
Some individuals might find it challenging at times to craft a well-formed outcome because of conflicting beliefs that need to be “cleaned up.” More on that later.
Health And Energy Key # 2:
Create and Maintain A Useful State
You are always creating and entering into, and operating out of, a “state…” a mental, emotional, spiritual, physical state. You have no doubt heard someone say, “I am in a really good mood.” Or, “She is in a really good frame of mind today!” When I use the word “state,” I am describing what is going on with you on mental, emotional, spiritual and physical levels…your total being.
Now, if you get anything out of this article, get this, and you will be ahead of the game: Never plan your future, or begin to solve a problem, or do anything, without first ensuring that you are in a useful, appropriate state for the outcome you are going for. Period.
Remember at time when you were in a conflict with someone you love, perhaps even with yourself! Did it help matters if you were in a less than useful state? By “less than useful state” I mean, one that is composed of, say, impatience, irritability, cynicism, lack of empathy, “I want to be right,” etc? What might have been the difference if instead, you had created and entered into a state that is composed of perhaps patience, caring about the best interest of the other person, curiosity, flexibility, creativity, genuine self-regard, etc?
Now, this article cannot fully coach you how to do that. You might want to have one individual coaching session to learn how to easily do what I am describing. You can also practice doing the following so you can enjoy learning how to create a useful state for yourself.: Imagine that your desired outcome is to persuade someone to your point of view on a matter. Now, remember a time when you communicated very effectively and got your outcome of someone being persuaded to your perspective. Imagine seeing a movie of that experience, and then “step into” the movie you are watching, and relive that experience for 30 seconds or more.
Now, step out of that movie, and remember a time when you were communicating with someone and you were very patient with that person, taking the time to really hear them out and to understand them on a superb level. Make a movie of that, and step into that! Then step out of it and remember a time when you were communicating with someone or a group of people and you demonstrated great flexibility to the point of reaching your outcome! Whatever “obstacle” came up, you were flexible in responding resourcefully to it. Now step into that movie…
You get the idea, right? This is one easy way to build a useful state for reaching any desired outcome.
Again, always make sure that you are in a useful state, one that is appropriate for easily and enjoyable reaching your desired outcome.
Health And Energy Key # 3:
Invest Yourself In Healthy And Rewarding Relationships
The people that you surround yourself with, those you let into your space, will affect you on all levels. It is as simple as that. Choose wisely. Perhaps it is time for you to let go of some relationships and to begin some new relationships. You are not doing anyone a favor by allowing them to adversely affect you over a period of time. That is not love, it is something else.
Know what you want from your relationships. Learn how to communicate with those around you, especially your loved ones, in such a manner that you effectively enhance the quality of your relationships, for all concerned. Learn to master the states you are in! When it comes to powerfully effective communication, the state you are in will be paramount. In your communication, be clear and be effective. Communicating effectively with yourself and others is the greatest single skill you can learn and develop. Invest your time, money and energy in doing so and you will be rewarded beyond what you are capable of currently imagining.
Health And Energy Key # 4:
Be Flexible
“Flexibility is the key!” The key to what? The key to achieving your outcome, the key to persuasive communication, the key to rewarding relationships. Flexibility is being able to do something different if what you are doing is not getting you the results you desire. Flexibility will get you to where you want to go with your health and energy. If what you have been doing has not gotten you the health and energy you want yet, do something else! You might be aware that there is no one “diet” or exercise program that is useful for everybody. You can find and use what will work for you…for now. And you can be flexible and change what you are doing as you find what works even better for you, moment by moment.
Health And Energy Key # 5:
Place Your “Health And Energy” As One Of Your Top “Life Values”
Tragically, “health and energy” is rarely a top value with most people. And I say “tragically” because of the fact that your values will drive your behaviors, and your behaviors will drive the results you create. So, it follows, that to engage in healthier behaviors, you will need to make sure that your health and energy is one of your top values. If you want to learn how to easily change your values, to actually choose which ones you want to drive your behaviors, you can do so in one coaching session. You will then have the ability and the tools to prioritize your values as you move through life. Remembering that your values will drive your behaviors. What is that worth?
Health And Energy Key #6:
Personal Congruency
“Congruency” is when your beliefs, values, behaviors, emotions and states are all lined up… and going in the same direction! You can easily understand how important this is. If for example, on one hand, you believe that you can greatly improve your health and energy, and on the other hand, you believe that doing so is not really possible, or that it would be quite difficult and unpleasant…well you can see the conflict, and you probably would feel the conflict as well. The stress that these two conflicting beliefs generate is unnecessary and can be eliminated with the appropriate tools and skill set.
Much energy is dissipated because of incongruent values and beliefs, not to mention incongruent behaviors! And when you learn how to “clean things up” and develop more congruency, you will immediately enjoy the results in your health and energy. Doing so is worth your investment, whatever that might be for you.
Health And Energy Key #7:
Design Your Life With Wisdom
And what is wisdom? It is contemplating and understanding the consequences of your choices and behaviors, not just for the immediate future, but for the distant future as well!
Now, my experience as a psychotherapist and Life and Business Coach has taught me that consistent improvement is more reliable than the so called overnight successes that you hear about from time to time.
Your health and energy…your overall well being, are all worth your patience! Because it is far better to take small and incremental steps into increased vigor, health and energy, than to take on too much, too soon. Your body and mind will thank you for exercising wisdom. An effective personal trainer said in an interview that “Most people try to do too much, too soon, get discouraged and then throw in the towel.”
It can be different for you. Be flexible enough to find out what works for you, in what increments, and then move forward with patience. Your patience and persistence will take you to your desired outcome of greater health and energy. Period. Remember the story of the tortoise and the hare? Enough said. And if it isn’t… remember that Rome was not built in a day. Or a month for that matter. And yet progress began with the first action taken, and continued with each step after that. Each step brings more of what was desired.
An Easier And Enjoyable Way To Learn The Seven Keys:

Exploring the Mystery of Aromatherapy Through Biotechnology
Aromatherapy originated in Ancient Egypt. About a hundred years ago, a pharmacist from France used an innovative method which led to a breakthrough in aromatherapy techniques. In recent years, under the strong promotion by Sathelyne Group, Bel’Air aromatherapy came into being to benefit many consumers.
For centuries, people have experienced and have come to recognise that essential oils have many benefits. Essential oils can help to combat bacteria and other diseases, repel mosquitoes, prevent tooth decay, fight oxidisation, inflammation and even enhance the immune system, calm nerves, etc.
But with so many types of essential oils around, which essential oils will benefit you? Which are the safest? These are questions that researchers are still unable to answer exactly.
Since 2002 when Bel’Air set up our factory in France, there has been interest in testing the safety and effectiveness of our essential oils. With these concerns in mind, Bel'Air worked closely with professor Tsai from Taiwan National Yang Ming University in setting up our very own Bel’Air Bio-tech Research Centre. Professor Tsai Ying Chieh is head of Taiwan National Yang Ming Biotechnology Department and head of Taiwan National Yang Ming University Medical Science Department. He expressed that his interest in aromatherapy research is enhanced by the fact that research and academic publications in this field are scarce. The Bel’Air Bio-tech Research Centre hopes to strengthen the foundation of botanic essential oil research and further the investigation of essential oils and their various properties, effects and benefits. Professor Tsai also hopes to share knowledge with international institutions and publish academic papers. At the same time, he aims to educate the public on aromatherapy.
The Effects of Essential Oils on Micro-organisms Present in the Air
Between August 2000 and September 2002, Bel’Air Bio-tech Research Centre carried out a research program to determine whether Green tea essential oil, Ginseng essential oil, Eucalyptus essential oil and Lavender essential oil have an influence on the amount of micro-organism (mold, yeast, fungus, bacteria) in the air. The researchers conducted tests on Green Tea essential oil, Ginseng essential oil, Eucalyptus essential oil and Lavender essential oil. They burned these 4 types of essential oils in a sealed room, and recorded readings at different time intervals. Readings were taken at the beginning of experiment (0 min), during the experiment (30, 50, 70, 90 mins) and after the experiment (30, 60, 90,120,150,180,210 mins). The experiment was repeated several times based on a sample of 500 litres of air. The experiment results proved that:
Green Tea has 90% effectiveness in killing bacteria; and 61% effectiveness in killing fungus. Ginseng has 90% effectiveness in killing bacteria; and 62% effectiveness in killing fungus. Eucalyptus has 52% and 48% effectiveness respectively, as pertaining to the items above. Lavender has 66% and 71% effectiveness respectively, as pertaining to the items above. Professor Tsai expressed excitement and interest in such results, because the experiment proved that Sathelyne Bel’Air’s aromatherapy products indeed could combat micro-organism in the air, thus purifying the air. He also said that although the effectiveness figures for fungus seem low, but that is desirable because this would mean that it would not be harmful to the body.
After obtaining such positive and encouraging results, Bel’Air has worked even harder to carry out the 2nd experiment. This program made detailed analysis and records of the chemical compositions of these 5 essential oils, and tests were done to determine their chemical and biological safety.
Professor Tsai carefully selected Ginseng, Green Tea, Green Bamboo, Lotus and Eucalyptus as the 5 essential oils for the experiment. The reason for such a selection was because the 1st four essential oils are plants from the East, of which not enough researches had been carried out in the West. The selection of Eucalyptus was to act as a test reference for the other 4.
Chemical and Biological Safety Experiment
The 2nd experiment went through the following steps:
Using GC-MS to analyse the chemical composition of these 5 essential oils. Based on their individual chemical compositions, analysis was done to determine the safety for use of essential oils. Using GC_MS to determine the after effects of these essential oils, whether any by-products or toxins were produced in the combustion process. Using Ames test to test the before and after changes of these essential oils.
Using skin cells, fat cells and HepG2cancer cells to determine essential oils effects.
Find out what effects these essential oils have in combating bacteria and killing micro-organism such as mold, yeast and fungus (MIC). The 2nd experiment results proved that these essential oils have compositions that are mild, low in toxins, do not irritate skin and have low light-sensitivity. The Ames test also proved that these essential oils do no go through major changes before and after the combustion process. What is more encouraging is that before the test, these essential oils already contained beneficial compositions, but after the test, these beneficial compositions diffused into the air and these are what the body needs exactly. Moreover, the body does not easily absorb these compositions in our daily activities.
These experiments carried out by Bel’Air and Yang Ming University have achieved positive results, and we hope that in future, there will be more of such experiments to make the benefits known to consumers.
The Aims of Bio-technology in the Medical Applications of Aromatherapy
1. To determine the plant essences and their scientific applications, their methods of production and their
relevance for health therapy and health maintenance.
2. To establish the concepts and the operational models.
3. To bring aromatherapy into the realm of medical treatments.
4. To employ modern methods of making new medicinal products in setting up aromatherapy processes, so as to develop aromatic medical science.

Evolution of Aromatherapy
The Origin of Aromatherapy
Since the beginning – from the time of the ancient civilisations, the knowledge of the effectiveness and use of aromatic essential oils has handed down from generation to generation, and across different communities. Aromatherapy is a manifestation of humanity's profound wisdom.
As early as 18000 B.C., as attested to in the wall paintings found in French caves, people of the Stone Age era had depicted, in illustrative splendour, their use of aromatherapy for the cure of sickness, fatigue relief or the enhancement of the pleasure of existence.
In ancient Egypt, priests had the knowledge of using aromatic essences in religious rituals, and extracting certain types of aromatic substances for use in medication. Egyptian Pharaohs exchanged essential oils, which could be worth more than gold, for slaves and valuable treasures. The Egyptians also discovered the excellent disinfectant and preservative properties of certain essential oils and resins, and the kinds that best served the use of preservation. Egyptian mummies that have stayed intact for 5,000 years or more aptly demonstrate the effectiveness of these ingredients.
In China, the use of herbs for the treating illnesses has a long history and tradition. From the era of Shen Nong who made medicinal herbal samples to the time of Li Shi Zhen who compiled the “Compendium of Medical Materials”, herbal therapy had been a part of life for people of China. In 3000 B.C., the first Chinese medical book “Yellow Emperor’s Private Manual” listed in details the curative effects of essential oils.
From around 3,000 B.C., priests who used essential oils in religious rituals and for corpse preservation also understood the beneficial effects of these for the living. In the Bible, essential oils are mentioned 180 times. The depiction that most people are familiar is that when baby Jesus was born, three wise men came, bringing along the essential oil that could strengthen the body’s immunity.
In 400B.C., the father of ancient Greek Medicine -- Hippocrates -- recorded in his famous medical treatise the properties of some 300 kinds of essential oils for the maintenance of well being. Ancient Romans used aromatherapy to create a tranquil and peaceful atmosphere in their temples and political buildings. They also used essential oils for massages after bathing.
In 15th Century Europe, aromatic essential oils were used to eliminate body odor and prevent diseases; in the times of the Crusades in the 12th Century, Europeans used essential oils against epidemics, reducing the death toll. With the rise of the modern perfume and cosmetics industry, the use of aromatic essential oils is becoming more and more widespread.
The Development of Aromatherapy
In 1897, a French pharmacist worked with the extracts and blended essential oils that were in fashion among the Europeans. Using an innovative process, botanicool was successfully infused via essential oils with the help of a patented formula catalyst. Together with the world renowned discovery of a burner head made of composite materials, these essential oils were able to diffuse instantaneously and increase its aromatic potency. This development gave rise to a complete series of efficient, safe and effective aromatherapy application.
In 1928, French botanist Rene-Maurine Gatteforril wrote numerous books on healing with aromatic plant essential oils. In these books, he explained the characteristics and application methods of plant essential oils, including examples of effective application of plants essential oils for disinfections, sterilisations, anti-viral and anti-inflammatory uses.
He recounted how he had unwittingly soaked his scalded hand into a container of pure lavender oil, and was surprised to discover immediate pain relief and healing without leaving a scar. He continued experimenting with various essential oils, such as extracts of thyme, clove, chamomile and lemon, and used these on the sick and wounded soldiers in a military hospital. The result of healing was astonishing.
In 1964, Doctor Jean Valnet made further discoveries on the effective properties of essential oils for cell regeneration and sterilisation, and vigorously promoted the use of aromatherapy in the medical field. Before the Second World War, the essential oils of clove, lemon, thyme and chamomile were used as natural disinfectants and sterilisers. They were also used to fumigate hospital wards, and to disinfect surgical and dentistry tools. During the Second World War, the medical arena continued in its use of essential oils, in an attempt to hasten the recovery process from scar marks, healing of burns and treatment of wounds.
Some time later, French biochemist Marguerite Maury expanded this field of research. In her highly influential book “Secrets of Life and Youth", she narrated the various effects of aromatherapy. After years of research and clinical tests, she identified the areas in which aromatic molecules deliver significant therapeutic results. These observations were studied from a scientific perspective and recorded in detail. In addition, aromatherapy was introduced into the cosmetics world, synthesising medicine, health and beauty.
In particular, she noted the influences of essential oils when absorbed by the skin or inhaled in the form of aromatic fumes. Aromatic molecules entering through the respiratory tract cause millions of reactions to happen through the nerves, finally registering themselves in the brain. In this process, they stimulate our senses, excite our mental faculty and restore vitality. As such, we can make use of this beautiful substance to restore our physical well being to a natural and balanced state.
In order to gain greater insight into this thousand-years legacy, Bel’Air has gathered biochemical researchers to engage in scientific techniques of analysis and research into the basic characteristics and applications of essential oils. Various research and development projects have already been launched.
Advancing into the New Era of Bio-technology
From ancient times, based on practical experiences, man has realised the marvellous effects of essential oils on the human body. However, what components do different kinds of essential oils contain? Among the components, which ones are most beneficial to the human body? Under what conditions will they be most effective? The study of the practical curative properties of essential oils, made with the full vigor of modern science, is the paramount mission of the leader of the aromatherapy world -- Bel’Air.
The Global Chairman of Bel’Air, Mr Huang Shu Li, introduced “Aromatherapy” in Asia. He created a new wave of aromatherapy trend and successfully established the aromatherapy brand “Bel' Air". Strictly controlled quality materials are used to supply the market demand. Taking first into consideration the needs of the human body, new essential oils are constantly researched and developed for the market.
With great foresight, Bel’Air has combined medical and bio-technology in aromatherapy applications so as to elevate such applications to the specialised path of body health maintenance and treatments. Bel’Air diligently seeks to validate with science the application of aroma curative properties. All products have certifications from various countries to attest to their safety in use. To achieve the objective of laying deep foundations for the aromatherapy business, Bel’Air has collaborated with the National Yang Ming University in Taiwan, establishing the Bel’Air Bio-tech Research Centre. With this, distinguished experts in the medical and bio-technology fields have been invited to help research and confirm the safety and effectiveness of the use of Bel’Air’s essential oils.
The promotion and development of pure essential oils and therapeutic methods have been Bel’Air’s achievements in pioneering the trend for health maintenance aromatherapy. To bring aromatherapy applications into the realm of medical and preventive medicine is a goal that Bel’Air diligently aspires to accomplish. The ability to use high-end bio-technology to develop essential oil products with preventive and curative functions for ailments shows that Bel’Air is well ahead in the era of aromatherapy for medical applications and is opening up a new chapter in aromatherapy history.
